About
Tristan Wright is a painter/illustrator/cartoonist living and working in the city of Oakland.
Tristan received his BFA in Painting and Drawing from The Tyler School of Art in the Spring of 2008.
His artwork is a meditation on the growth of monstrosities from the social situations that enable and define the absurd notion of the modern self. It is his intention to provide grotesque illusions for the introverted spirit which, while internally familiar, are outwardly extrinsic. Or he specializes in the painting and drawing of weird and wonderful creatures and occasions.
Tristan works with a wide variety of art making tools to create his paintings, illustrations, animations and cartoons. Tristan feels that there is no good reason to fear any one side of the art making emerald and that, as in all aspects of life, finding balance amid chaos is the key toward a happy and productive existence.
This blog serves as a digital haunt into which apparitions of images and ideas escape to when tired of littering the walls and dusty corners of Tristan’s bungalow across the street from a gas station.
